With a size of 12,6 hectares (20 soccer fields) and with 48.040 solar panels, the Most Powerful Solar Roof In The world lays on the roof of the Heylen Warehouses VE Commerce Campus in Venlo, the Netherlands. With a capacity of 18 Megawatts this solar project, constructed by a joint venture between Heylen Warehouses and AG Real Estate, produces an equivalent to the power consumption of 4.500 households.

This project is part of Heylen Group’s ambition to invest in renewable energy, thereby creating added value for our customers renting logistic warehouses. The installation provides green electricity, not only to neutralise the carbon footprint for on-site activities but also for activities on other locations, such as flag stores, headquarters and other distribution centres of our customers.

By making our properties ‘greener’ and more sustainable, we do not only enable our customers and lessees to make their activities energy positive, we also contribute to the environment by decreasing the CO2 emission. With the “world’s most powerful sunroof” about 12.000 ton of CO2 is saved a year.
